Many people believe that laser hair removal treatment is permanent. However, that’s a myth and hence it is now called ‘laser hair reduction’. After six to eight sessions of treatment, we recieve the results of about 65 to 90 percent reduction to hair, and then just a few maintenance sessions are required. A lot of people must be thinking that if laser hair removal is not permanent then why do you need it? That’s because, when you use other methods of hair removal like waxing, threading, or bleaching, then the hair arows back more quickly and with similar thickness. However, when we perform laser hair reduction, there is a significant delay in the growth of hair. And the terminal hair turns into Bella’s hair or the thick hair turns into baby hair. Every single hair follicle undergoes a hair cycle which consists of four phases ; The anagen phase (growing phase), the catagen (transition phase) the telogen phase (resting phase), and the exogen (shedding phase). Every single hair follicle at a given point of time is at a different phase of the hair cycle. The laser energy focuses only on the hair follicles in the anagen phase. Hence, we require multiple sessions of laser hair treatment to target the hair follicles in original fields.

Well, LASER stands for light amplification through the stimulated emission of radiation. The Laser is an intensely concentrated light energy targeted on the hair follicle. This hair follicle which consists of the melanin pigament or the dark pigment absorbs the light energy and destroys the hair follicles. Normally a person requires six to eight sessions for laser hair reduction. As the hair is further fine on the face, eight to ten sessions may be required for laser hair reduction on the face. If you’re suffering from a hormonal problem or PCOD, further ten to fifteen sessions may be required.
