Platelet Rich Fibrin Therapy
What is a PRF?
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is an advanced skincare treatment that utilises a patient’s own blood and a protein matrix called fibrin to rejuvenate the skin. Unlike platelet-rich plasma (PRP), PRF contains a high concentration of white blood cells, fibrin, and stem cells, which can help stimulate tissue building and collagen production.
PRF injections are used to help heal the skin at the cellular level and are considered safe since they are made from the patient’s own blood. To prepare for the treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and processed using a centrifuge to separate the PRF from other blood components. PRF can be combined with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to enhance facial volume, and it has been shown to be effective in rejuvenating under-eye hollows.
PRF injections promote new collagen growth and can soften the effects of sun damage and other ageing skin issues. The magic of PRF lies in fibrin, which is found in the blood and promotes the release of growth factors. When PRF is injected into specific areas of the skin, it stimulates collagen growth, regenerates tissue, and enhances the skin naturally, improving skin quality on the face, neck, chest, hands, and even scalp (to fight hair loss).
