Face & Skin Procedures

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are considered one of the most minimally-invasive procedures to reduce the appearance of acne scars and other imperfections on the skin. These naturally-derived injectables usually have hyaluronic acid for a base. They help even out the creases and furrow lines on the forehead and eyebrows, remove eye-bags and under-eye hollows caused by those sleepless nights that wedding preparations bring with it.

Every session is about 30-45 minutes long, depending upon the area treated and the amount injectable used. You can easily resume normal activities post-treatment, however, avoid strenuous movements and direct exposure to sun rays.

The after-procedure result can be seen immediately, and it lasts for 8-12 months. It’s recommended to get the procedure done 4-6 months before the wedding so that even the slightest chance of allergy or reactions can be stricken out.

The post-treatment results will include:

  • Added volume and smoothened out the deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth (called nasolabial folds or laugh lines).
  • Fuller lips and smooth-out the vertical lines around the lips edges.
  • Augmented cheeks that enhance their shape, often restoring youthful fullness.
  • Filling out depressions (hollows) under the eyes.
  • More even skin tone and texture, reducing the appearance of acne scars and other pigmentation.

Laser Rejuvenation Treatments

We understand, wedding preparations can be stressful, and can lead to acne breakouts.  But, instead of buckling under the pressure, consider laser treatment. It’s perfect for brides who want non-surgical correction, but eschew invasive treatments like fillers.

SkinAlive offers Nd: YAG laser treatment, one of the best ways to treat acne, freckles, sun spots, age spots and fine lines, and pigmentation. Nd: YAG is a non-ablative laser, which means there’s no break in skin tissue during the procedure. It is designed to target pigment cells. The specific wavelength  is absorbed preferentially by melanin pigments, and the resultant heat causes generation and propagation of waves that damage the cells containing pigment. These targeted  cells are then cleared from the site resulting in the lightening of the pigmented site. Also, the treatment helps the dermis layer of skin to regenerate collagen and elastin for supple skin.

Laser treatments require minimal downtime. Each session usually last for 30-45 minutes. The results last for 6-8 months depending on the skin condition and ageing process. After the sessions, the skin is noticeably lighter, and the visible scars are reduced. You may suffer a little redness and swelling for 24-48 hours, which can be easily relieved by an intensive moisturising routine. And, just as it is with any facial treatment, staying away from direct sunlight is crucial. So is applying  sunscreen (SPF 40) every time you step out.

If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, it is recommendable to get laser treatments done two to three months before the wedding day and putting.

The post-treatment results will include:

  • Improved skin tone and texture
  • Reduced facial wrinkles and fine lines
  • Treatment of sun damage including age spots and brown pigmentation
  • Firm skin
  • Stimulated new collagen and elastin tissue production

Thermage

Thermage is an FDA-approved radiofrequency procedure that tightens the skin and reduces wrinkles and other sign of ageing. The procedure is initiated by delivering direct current to the skin surface. When the current is met by the cell of the area, a resistance is created that converts the radiofrequency energy into heat energy.

This heat denatures collagen in the lower skin layers, and your body clears it out. This initial effect does not last long. However, 2-3 weeks after the procedure, denatured collagen signals skin fibroblasts to produce new, healthy collagen, leading to the tightening of the skin, which can be seen after a few months of the procedure.

It is a painless, non-invasive procedure that requires no downtime. A session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the area to be covered. Another great thing about Thermage is that unlike laser skin tightening procedures, it does not require repeated sittings to achieve desired results. However, brides are recommended to wait 4 to 6 months for the tightening and collagen growth to be complete, before the D-day.

The results include:

  • The Eyes: Hooding, fine lines, and even your brow line can make you look worn-down. Thermage treats the area around the eyes and eyelids to help you look fresher and more youthful.
  • The Face: As you age, phrases like “turkey neck”, loose jowls, sagging skin creep in everyday life. For that, Thermage smoothens lines and wrinkles and restructure collagen for the overall health of the skin.

CoolSculpting

Now that you’ve taken care of the face, let’s turn our attention to the body as well, because what bride wouldn’t like to flaunt her curves on the day of the wedding, right? Coolsculpting is a non-invasive procedure that involves cooling the adipose tissue to induce the breakdown of fat cells. As subcutaneous fat cells are more vulnerable to the effects of low temperature compared to the other tissue, cooling is a safe process for reducing body fat and allowing for body contouring without damaging other cells and tissues. It is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.

Experts recommend that a bride should schedule a session 3-6 months in advance. The results aren’t usually visible immediately after the procedure, but fat loss reaches its peak around 6-7 weeks. .

Alright, dear brides, time to take your place in the spotlight. Wedding is the most special day of your life and the days leading up to it are meant to be fun. Forget the jitters and focus only on looking your best, brightest, and most gorgeous. And to that end, Skin Alive will be more than happy to help you.
